
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heatwave conditions in six districts of Odisha on March 13 and 14, cautioning residents about rising temperatures.
According to the IMD forecast, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda are likely to experience heatwave conditions at one or two places over the next two days. In addition, the entire state is expected to witness dry weather in the coming days.
“Heatwave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda,” stated the IMD bulletin.
The regional weather office has advised residents in these districts to take precautions such as staying hydrated, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, and wearing light, breathable clothing to prevent heat-related illnesses.
