Heat Wave Grips Bhubaneswar: Temperature Soars to 43.2°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s capital city, Bhubaneswar, experienced scorching temperatures on Friday as the mercury soared above 43 degrees Celsius, marking the first instance of such high temperatures this season.

According to the regional centre of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar recorded a daytime temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius by 2:30 pm today. The relentless heat wave has left residents grappling with sweltering conditions, prompting concerns about the impact on health and daily activities.

Earlier in the day, by 11:30 am, the temperature had already climbed to 39.8 degrees Celsius, indicating a rapid rise in temperatures as the day progressed.

The blistering heat wave is not confined to Bhubaneswar alone, as several other parts of the state continue to experience similar conditions. Sambalpur recorded a temperature of 40.8°C, while Hirakud and Chandbali registered 40.6°C each. Other areas grappling with high temperatures include Jharsuguda (40.2°C), Rourkela (39.6°C), Keonjhar (39°C), Balasore (37.8°C), Puri (33°C), Gopalpur (32.2°C), and Paradip (32°C).
