Bhubaneswar: A five-day induction programme aimed at strengthening the teaching skills and classroom preparedness of newly appointed Odia Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) concluded at IMAGE, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, on Saturday.
Around 100 Odia PGTs from Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools across Odisha took part in the training, organised by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) under the School and Mass Education Department.
The programme covered subject-specific pedagogy, teaching-learning practices, classroom management and other professional competencies. It also provided the teachers with an opportunity to interact with one another, exchange classroom experiences and share knowledge.
Addressing the valedictory session, DHSE Director Niyati Pattnaik stressed the importance of continuous learning and professional development among teachers. She encouraged the participants to keep strengthening their knowledge and teaching practices beyond the induction programme.
Additional Director Binita Senapati highlighted the role of induction training in building the professional skills and confidence of newly appointed teachers and preparing them to meet classroom requirements effectively.
The valedictory session was also attended by Joint Director Sasmita Mali and Deputy Director Jitendra Nayak.
Mali delivered the welcome address, while Nayak proposed the vote of thanks and acknowledged the contribution of resource persons, participating teachers and officials involved in the programme.
The training was designed to help the newly appointed teachers transition into their roles with stronger subject knowledge, pedagogical understanding and classroom readiness.
