FIH Pro League Begins at Kalinga Stadium with Exciting Matches

Bhubaneswar: The much-anticipated FIH Pro League kicked off today at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, marking the beginning of a thrilling international hockey spectacle that will run until February 25.

Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj graced the opening ceremony, extending their best wishes to the participating teams and boosting the morale of players. Their presence underscored Odisha’s commitment to promoting hockey and cementing its reputation as a premier global sports destination.

The opening day saw three action-packed matches, with two in the women’s category and one in the men’s category. In the women’s competition, Spain secured a commanding victory over Germany, while India delivered an impressive performance to defeat England. In the men’s category, Spain outplayed India in a hard-fought contest.

A large number of enthusiastic spectators filled the stands at Kalinga Stadium, cheering fervently for their favorite teams and adding to the electrifying atmosphere. With several more matches lined up, the tournament promises to be a showcase of top-tier hockey, drawing fans and players from across the world.
