Facial Recognition Cameras to be installed at Ayodhya Ram Mandir

Ayodhya: In an innovative move, the temple trust and Ayodhya administration are contemplating the installation of facial recognition cameras within the temple complex for enhanced security and streamlined procedures.

Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal explained that as devotees are required to deposit their mobiles and electronic gadgets before entering the temple complex, facial recognition software could be employed at the pilgrimage facility’s check-in counters. He suggested that the technology, commonly used at busy airports, could be adapted for the Ram temple.

Dayal envisioned a future where devotees could download their photographs taken during their visit to the temple complex on their mobiles, facilitated by a unique code generated through the facial recognition software.

However, the implementation of this concept will take some time, given the ongoing arrangements for the large number of devotees visiting the temple complex. Trust member Anil Mishra acknowledged the potential of face recognition software but emphasized its introduction would be considered once the situation stabilizes. Currently, approximately one lakh devotees visit the temple daily.

Mishra mentioned that the trust plans to issue ‘aarti’ passes, but this will only be initiated after the rush of devotees stabilizes. The decision regarding the issuance of aarti passes will be communicated through the Ram temple website in the near future. The proposed technological solutions aim to enhance security and improve the overall experience for devotees visiting the sacred site.
