ESIC Payroll Data Reveals Robust Job Growth and Inclusive Social Security Coverage
New Delhi: The provisional payroll data released by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for November 2023 showcases a commendable addition of 15.92 lakh new employees, signaling a robust growth in employment opportunities.
During November 2023, a noteworthy 20,830 new establishments joined the social security framework of the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme, extending coverage to a broader spectrum of workers. This expansion aligns with the commitment to ensure the well-being and social security of the workforce.
Crucially, the data indicates a positive trend in job creation for the youth, with 47% of the total registrations (7.47 lakh employees) falling within the age group of 25 years and below. This emphasizes the role of ESIC in contributing to the employment and empowerment of the younger demographic.
A gender-wise analysis of the payroll data highlights the inclusion of 3.17 lakh female members, reflecting a concerted effort towards ensuring equitable representation in social security initiatives. Additionally, the data reveals that 58 transgender employees have been successfully registered under the ESI Scheme, underscoring ESIC’s commitment to inclusivity and serving diverse sections of society.
It is important to note that the payroll data is provisional, given the continuous nature of data generation. ESIC remains dedicated to its mission of delivering comprehensive social security benefits to all segments of society, contributing to the nation’s economic growth and the well-being of its workforce.
