East Coast Railway Achieves ₹17 Crore Scrap Sale Target Ahead of Deadline

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has achieved its October 2026 scrap sale target of ₹17 crore on October 22, well ahead of the month-end deadline, under Special Campaign 6.

The achievement reflects the railway zone’s efforts to improve asset management, ensure timely disposal of unserviceable materials and maximise the utilisation of available resources. The early completion of the target also highlights the coordinated efforts of its divisions, headquarters departments and workshop personnel.

The Headquarters Engineering Department, all divisions of ECoR and the Mancheswar Carriage Repair Workshop (MCS Workshop) contributed to achieving the target through sustained efforts in scrap disposal. Sambalpur Division made a significant contribution to the overall achievement.

Scrap disposal is an important component of railway resource management, helping generate revenue from unserviceable materials while freeing up valuable space within railway premises. It also supports better maintenance of railway establishments, improves the utilisation of infrastructure and promotes cleanliness across railway installations.

Through systematic disposal of obsolete and unserviceable materials, railway units can create a more organised working environment while ensuring that resources are managed efficiently.

East Coast Railway continues to focus on efficient asset management, timely disposal of scrap and improved resource utilisation as part of its efforts to maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency across its network.
