
Bhubaneswar: The 12551 Bangalore-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express derailed near Nergundi Station in the Cuttack-Nergundi Railway Section of the Khurda Road Division under the East Coast Railway at approximately 11:54 AM today. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported.
Upon receiving the information, the General Manager of East Coast Railway, along with the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Khurda Road and other senior railway officials, rushed to the site to oversee the situation and coordinate relief operations.
Swift Response and Relief Measures
Accident Relief and Medical Relief Trains were immediately dispatched to the location to ensure passenger safety and facilitate restoration work. Additionally, a special train has been arranged to transport the stranded passengers to their respective destinations.
Railway authorities promptly provided detained passengers with drinking water, snacks, and food packets to ensure their comfort during the disruption.

To minimize disruption to railway operations, the following trains traveling from Bhubaneswar towards Bhadrak will be diverted via Barang-Nergundi-Kapilas Road instead of the usual Cuttack-Kendrapara Road-Nergundi route:
