Opting to bat first, Australian captain Hugh Weibgen’s decision proved fruitful as his team posted a formidable total of 253/7 at the end of their innings. This set the record for the highest-ever total in an U19 World Cup final. Harjas Singh played a crucial role, top-scoring with 55, while Weibgen, Harry Dixon, and Ollie Peak contributed with valuable 40s. India’s pursuit of the challenging target suffered a shambolic start, losing four crucial wickets within the first 20 overs, including their top run-getters Musheer Khan, Uday Saharan, and Sachin Dhas.
