Atal Innovation Mission Celebrates Graduation of Second Batch of Community Innovator Fellows

New Delhi: The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog celebrated a significant milestone on July 5, 2024, with the graduation of its second batch of Community Innovator Fellows (CIFs). The event also saw the launch of “Stories of Change Edition 2,” a collection highlighting individuals dedicated to making impactful changes in their communities and the world.

AIM, through its Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACIC) program, aims to support grassroots innovators in underserved areas across India, accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. The event underscored AIM’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

Anurag Pratap Singh, Vice President & CSR Leader at Capgemini India, delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of collaborative partnerships in driving local innovation and societal progress. “These innovators are role models, shaping their communities and society at large,” Singh remarked. “Their journey highlights the potential for impactful change with continued support.”

Dr. Suresh Reddy, Lead CSR & Director at SRF Foundation, reflected on the role of social entrepreneurship in addressing community challenges. He praised the CIFs for their innovative solutions and dedication to creating sustainable change. “The core value is to ‘be your own master,'” Dr. Reddy said, highlighting NITI Aayog’s support for grassroots startups through various initiatives.

Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director of AIM, celebrated the CIF program’s impact on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. He emphasized the program’s role in advancing solutions across healthcare, education, agriculture, and financial services, aligning with sustainable development goals. “We have established robust institutions that integrate business incubation with academia,” Dr. Vaishnav stated. “This initiative captures the aspirations of youth eager to innovate and make a difference.”

The event concluded with the launch of “Stories of Change Edition 2,” showcasing inspiring narratives of grassroots innovators within the AIM ecosystem. Each story reflects resilience, creativity, and transformative impact, celebrating the achievements and potential of community innovators.
