New Delhi: Ashu Mathur, a 1991-batch officer of the Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS), has assumed the charge of Chief Adviser (Cost), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance. The appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). Shri Mathur took charge on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Level-17 (Apex level).
Before assuming the role of Chief Adviser (Cost), Shri Ashu Mathur held the position of Additional Chief Adviser (Cost). He brings with him a wealth of experience, having served in various capacities in different Ministries/Departments, autonomous bodies, and regulatory bodies.
Shri Mathur is a qualified Cost Accountant and Chartered Accountant, with a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Policy & Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore/Syracuse University, USA. His diverse work experience includes roles at the Department of Defence Production, Finance Commission Division of the Department of Expenditure, AIIMS Jodhpur, Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission, Tariff Commission, and GST.
In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Adviser (Cost), Shri Mathur also serves as the head of the Indian Cost Accounts Service. His expertise and leadership are expected to contribute significantly to the Department of Expenditure’s initiatives and responsibilities.
