Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday informed that a low pressure area is likely to form over southeast Arabian Sea on May 14 which would gradually move towards northwestwards across southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep area.
IMD forecasted that this could intensify into a Cyclonic storm over east central Arabian Sea on 16 May.
This would cause heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places over Kerala and Lakshadweep on 14 and 15 May and in Tamil Nadu and south Karnataka on May 15.
Fishermen of these regions are advised not to venture out to the southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Maldives, Comorin and Lakshadweep area and Kerala coast from 13 May morning and east central Arabian sea and along and off Karnataka-Goa and Maharashtra and Goa coasts from the night of May 14.
