Amantya Technologies Secures TTDF Funding for Indigenous 5G SA Core Development

New Delhi: Amantya Technologies has been awarded funding under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) scheme, now renamed as “Digital Bharat Nidhi,” by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The funding will support Amantya’s project titled “Development of ‘India 5G Stack’ with the Next-Gen 3GPP Release 16/17 Compliant ‘Made in India 5G SA Core’ for Public and Enterprise Deployment.” This initiative represents a significant step toward fostering innovation and self-reliance in India’s telecom ecosystem, aligning with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.

Amantya Technologies will build on its existing enterprise-grade 5G Standalone (SA) Core to deliver a carrier-grade solution compliant with the latest 3GPP standards. The project will enhance the 5G SA Core network with advanced features such as network slicing, improved Quality of Service (QoS), Voice over New Radio (VoNR), Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC), and Massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC). It will also incorporate robust security measures, geo-redundancy, high availability, and traffic monitoring capabilities while enabling seamless integration with existing 4G and 5G networks. The solution is designed to be cloud-agnostic, allowing deployment on platforms like Kubernetes, OpenStack, and OpenShift, making it adaptable for public carrier, private enterprise, and on-premises use.

The signing ceremony, held in New Delhi, was attended by Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay, CEO of C-DOT; Dr. Parag Agarwal, Deputy Director General of TTDF; and Anuradha Gupta, CEO of Amantya Technologies, along with other dignitaries. Speaking at the event, Dr. Rajkumar Upadhyay emphasized that the initiative marks a critical milestone in India’s journey toward self-reliance in telecom technology. He highlighted that developing a domestic 5G SA Core provides an indigenous option for deployment and reflects the potential of India’s growing telecom ecosystem. Dr. Parag Agarwal underscored the transformative impact of the project, noting its role in positioning India as a global hub for 5G technology through innovation and self-reliance.

Anuradha Gupta, CEO of Amantya Technologies, expressed her gratitude for the funding and stated that the development of a carrier-grade 5G SA Core within India is a significant stride toward achieving self-reliance. She highlighted the project’s potential to strengthen the country’s telecom infrastructure, bridge the digital divide, and prepare India for future advancements like 6G.

This project aims to bridge the digital divide by extending high-speed connectivity to rural and remote areas while reducing deployment costs through a “Made in India” approach. The initiative is expected to pave the way for widespread adoption of 5G technology, benefiting both public carriers and enterprises. By focusing on self-reliance and innovation, India is poised to solidify its position as a global leader in the telecom sector, driving the nation toward a digitally empowered future.
