Bhubaneswar: Amid mounting concerns over alleged irregularities in entrance exam scores, the Odisha government has put a temporary hold on all admission-related activities for B.Ed. (Arts/Science), B.H.Ed., and M.Ed. programmes for the academic year 2025–26.

The decision, announced through a notification from the Higher Education Department, comes as the State Selection Board (SSB) initiates a detailed re-verification of answer keys. Subject-wise expert panels have been formed to examine the discrepancies flagged by candidates and stakeholders.

“Until this verification process is completed, the ongoing admission procedures for the said programmes will remain suspended,” the department stated. It further added that a fresh schedule for the admission process will be announced on the SAMS portal (https://te.samsodisha.gov.in) and in leading newspapers once the review is concluded.

The suspension affects thousands of students who were gearing up for admission into teacher education institutions across the state. The Higher Education Department has advised all applicants and colleges to rely solely on official platforms for verified updates.

Officials emphasized that the move is aimed at preserving the transparency and credibility of the selection process. By proactively reviewing the evaluation process, the government aims to ensure that admissions are based on accurate and fair assessment.
