Air Commodore Debakinandan Sahu Assumes Command of Base Repair Depot, Tughlakabad
Tughlakabad: Air Commodore Debakinandan Sahu officially assumed command of the Base Repair Depot (BRD) in Tughlakabad today, succeeding Air Commodore Rishi Seth. The change of command was marked by an impressive ceremonial parade conducted by the depot personnel, showcasing the discipline and commitment of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
Commissioned into the Aeronautical Engineering stream of the IAF on May 30, 1994, Air Commodore Sahu brings over three decades of rich experience and technical acumen to his new role. An alumnus of the prestigious Air Force Technical College (AFTC), Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), and the College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad, he has extensive expertise in aviation and guided weapon missile systems.
Over his illustrious career, Air Commodore Sahu has held several pivotal appointments, including:
- Chief Engineering Officer at a premier Air Force base.
- Key staff roles at Operational Command Headquarters.
- Strategic assignments at Air Headquarters.
In recognition of his exemplary service, he was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India on January 26, 2023, a testament to his dedication and contributions to the IAF.
As the new commander, Air Commodore Sahu is expected to build upon the strong foundation laid by his predecessor, Air Commodore Rishi Seth. His leadership is anticipated to steer the depot toward enhanced operational efficiency and technical excellence, ensuring the depot continues to play a vital role in the maintenance and repair of critical IAF assets.
The Base Repair Depot, Tughlakabad, serves as a cornerstone of the IAF’s maintenance infrastructure, specializing in the overhaul and repair of essential equipment and systems.
