President Murmu Presents Colours to College of Defence Management, Secunderabad
Secunderabad: The President of India, Droupadi Murmu, presented the Colours to the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad today, acknowledging the institution’s pivotal role in shaping India’s defense leadership and strategy.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Murmu highlighted the significance of enhanced defense management capabilities in strengthening India’s diplomatic and military partnerships, boosting defense exports, and maintaining a proactive stance in global security forums.
She emphasized the transformative impact of emerging technologies on national security, noting that traditional methods of warfare are rapidly evolving. “India is prioritizing the integration of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, drones, cyber warfare capabilities, and space defense technologies, into its defense systems to enhance efficiency and global competitiveness,” the President remarked.
Underlining the importance of staying abreast with technological advancements and shifting operational dynamics, she called on Armed Forces personnel to adapt to the era of hybrid and grey zone warfare. She noted that institutions like the College of Defence Management play a critical role in preparing the military leadership to navigate these complex challenges.
The President also spoke about India’s growing influence in regional and global defense dialogues, facilitated by multilateral economic and military engagements. She asserted that India’s defense capabilities reflect the nation’s strength and visionary approach, emphasizing self-reliance, technological innovation, and strategic collaborations as pillars of its contribution to global peace and stability.
