Odisha to Recruit 6,025 Teachers for Government Secondary Schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has announced the recruitment of 6,025 teachers for Government Secondary Schools across the state. These appointments will be for the position of Leave Training Reserve teachers, with the aim of strengthening the education system in Odisha.

Among the total recruits, 1,988 positions will be reserved for women, supporting the state’s efforts to promote gender equality in the workforce. The recruitment includes 681 Physical Education Teachers and 5,344 teachers for TGT Arts, TGT Science, Hindi, and Classical (Sanskrit) subjects.

Pay Scale and Application Process:

The newly recruited teachers will be classified into two groups:

  • Group-B service teachers will receive a monthly salary of ₹35,400.
  • Group-C service teachers will receive ₹29,200 per month.

Candidates can apply online starting from October 30, 2024, with the last date for submission set as December 2, 2024.

The selection process will include a preliminary examination followed by a main written examination. The exams will be conducted in both Odia and English, except for the language papers.

This recruitment drive aims to fill the teaching gaps in Odisha’s schools and ensure quality education for students across the state.
