Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the third Vande Bharat train in Odisha today, marking a significant milestone in the expansion of the country’s railway infrastructure. The newly flagged-off train will operate between Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar six days a week, enhancing connectivity and facilitating seamless travel for passengers.
In addition to launching the Vande Bharat service, Prime Minister Modi also flagged off nine other trains across different parts of the country, further strengthening the railway network and improving accessibility for passengers.
During the event, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and dedicated various railway projects valued at over 85,000 Crores, emphasizing the government’s commitment to enhancing rail infrastructure and connectivity. A total of 274 railway projects in Odisha were inaugurated or received foundation stones during the ceremony.
These projects include:
162 Electronic Interlocking systems
41 One Station One Product (OSOP) stalls
50 Solar power stations
5 Goods Sheds
9 new line, doubling, and 3rd line projects
4 Auto signaling systems
1 GatiSakthi terminal
1 Jan Ausadhi Kendra
1 Rail coach restaurant
