New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has announced the temporary closure of 32 airports across northern and western India to civil flight operations from May 9 to May 14, 2025, citing operational reasons. The suspension will remain in effect until 0529 IST on May 15, 2025, as per a series of Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) issued by AAI and relevant aviation authorities.
Among the affected airports are major and regional hubs including Amritsar, Leh, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Jaisalmer, Bhuj, Rajkot, and Jodhpur, along with several others located in strategic or sensitive zones. Civil flight activities at these airports will remain suspended throughout the notified period.

Adhampur, Ambala, Amritsar, Awantipur, Bathinda, Bhuj, Bikaner, Chandigarh, Halwara, Hindon, Jaisalmer, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kandla, Kangra (Gaggal), Keshod, Kishangarh, Kullu-Manali (Bhuntar), Leh, Ludhiana, Mundra, Naliya, Pathankot, Patiala, Porbandar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Sarsawa, Shimla, Srinagar, Thoise, and Uttarlai.
Additionally, NOTAM G0555/25—superseding an earlier NOTAM G0525/25—announces the extended closure of 25 segments of Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes in the Delhi and Mumbai Flight Information Regions (FIRs). These route closures affect airspace from ground level to unlimited altitude and will also remain in effect until 2359 UTC on May 14, 2025 (0529 IST, May 15).
Airlines and civil aviation operators have been instructed to adjust their flight schedules and plan alternate routings in accordance with current air traffic advisories. The AAI emphasized that these changes are being managed in close coordination with Air Traffic Control (ATC) units to ensure passenger safety and minimize disruption.
