The event will also see the esteemed presence of eminent dignitaries, yoga gurus, masters, and experts in yoga and allied sciences, alongside the heads of various institutions.
Aligned with the theme of World Health Day, which falls on April 7, 2024, the 75th day countdown event aims to raise awareness about the myriad benefits of yoga and promote its widespread adoption for enhanced health and well-being, both nationally and internationally.
The International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on June 21st, and this year, a 100-day countdown was initiated on March 13th to sensitise the public about the transformative power of yoga. As part of this countdown series, the 75th day celebration takes the form of a Yoga Mahotsav, jointly organized by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga and the National Institute of Naturopathy (NIN), Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
Participants will engage in the practice of the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) starting at 6:00 AM on April 7th, 2024, showcasing their dedication to embracing yoga as a means of personal and societal upliftment. The event also receives support from the Indian Yoga Association’s Maharashtra State Chapter.
At the heart of the event lies the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), a meticulously designed set of yoga practices curated by experts to harness the full spectrum of yoga’s benefits. From pranayama to meditation, each component of the protocol serves to enhance flexibility, strength, balance, and overall harmony.
The Ministry of Ayush, in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, is spearheading a ‘100 days, 100 cities, and 100 organizations’ campaign across the country, leading up to the 10th International Day of Yoga. This campaign encompasses mass yoga demonstrations, workshops, lectures, and the promotion of CYP to encourage the widespread adoption of yoga for improved health and well-being.
