
Panchkula: In a hard-fought encounter, UP Yoddhas, the GMR Group-owned franchise, faced a setback against Gujarat Giants in Match 125 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10. The match, held at Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium, Panchkula, saw UP Yoddhas succumb to a defeat with a scoreline of 29-36.
Playing their second last match of the ongoing season and missing key players, UP Yoddhas struggled against the Giants. Gagan Gowda emerged as the top scorer for the Yoddhas with nine points, followed by Hitesh, securing seven points and another High 5 of the season. With four victories and 30 points, UP Yoddhas currently hold the eleventh position in the points table.
In their last game of PKL Season 10 on 21st February 2024, UP Yoddhas will face Puneri Paltans at Panchkula. The match will be broadcasted LIVE on Star Sports Network and can be streamed on Disney Hotstar from 08:00 p.m. (IST) onwards.
Winning the toss, UP Yoddhas invited Gujarat Giants to raid first, with the latter opening the scorecard. Despite a slow start, Yoddhas staged a comeback through a Super Tackle and a successful do-or-die multipoint raid, taking the lead at 5-4 by the 6th minute. The first half ended with a close contest, and the scorecard read 13-15 in favor of Gujarat Giants.
The second half witnessed UP Yoddhas facing an early All-Out, trailing 14-18. Despite efforts to close the gap, Yoddhas struggled with unforced errors, leading to another All-Out, and the Giants extended their lead to 31-21 by the eleventh minute. Although UP Yoddhas attempted a late recovery, scoring points quickly in the last few minutes, Gujarat Giants secured the victory with a final scoreline of 36-29.
