
Bhubaneswar: Reinforcing the importance of safe and inclusive workplaces, the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Odisha conducted a sensitisation workshop on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) for officials of the State Secretariat.
The workshop focused on building a deeper understanding of legal provisions and institutional responsibilities under the Act, while encouraging a culture of respect, accountability, and gender sensitivity within government offices.
Inaugurating the session, Dr. Mrinalini Darswal, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the department, stressed that workplace safety is fundamental to effective governance. She highlighted that strict adherence to the POSH Act is essential to ensure dignity and protection for all employees.
Resource persons Sneh Sharma and Mansi Padhi conducted detailed sessions on key aspects of the law, including prevention mechanisms, complaint redressal procedures, and the role of Internal Committees in addressing grievances.
Officials participated actively in discussions, exchanging views on strengthening workplace ethics and improving awareness around reporting and redressal systems.
The session concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to foster harassment-free, inclusive, and equitable work environments across government institutions.
