Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar Distributes 225 Appointment Letters to Young Indians in Vizag

Visakhapatnam:   Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, distributed 225 appointment letters to young Indians entering government service in Vizag today. The event, marked by the presence of the appointees, their families, and prominent citizens, celebrated their entry into various government departments, including the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Defence, and Department of Atomic Energy, among others.

The distribution of appointment letters in Vizag aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual address, where he distributed 1 lakh appointment letters to young Indians nationwide.

In his address, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar congratulated the appointees, emphasizing the transformative changes in governance and political culture in India since 2014 that have unleashed opportunities for young Indians.

“Entering government service at this time is the most exciting moment in the history of independent India. For many years, our nation had great culture and potential, but there was a narrative of dysfunctional governance. However, in the last decade, there has been a shift in government and political culture. The culture of performance, usually associated with the private sector and startups, has entered the government sector. Being in government is about service, good governance, and helping those in need; it is not about power or authority,” the Minister stated.

Reflecting on the historical asymmetry and imbalance in governance before 2014, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar highlighted the major roadblocks faced by young Indians.

“Earlier, there was an asymmetry and imbalance between the power of somebody in government and the expectations of service and support by a common citizen. Personally, I have been in politics for 18 years, 8 years as an opposition MP. I saw this country give no opportunity to young Indians before. Now this country is full of opportunities every day, whether you are self-employed, in government, or in the private sector,” he added.

The young Indians present expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for expanding opportunities and pledged to diligently serve as members of the Narendra Modi Government, contributing to the nation’s progress and aspirations. They voiced confidence in the Prime Minister’s commitment to transforming lives and propelling India towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
