Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Sanctions Rs. 1014.59 Crore for Frontier Highway in Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi: In a significant development, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, has given the green signal for an investment of Rs. 1014.59 crore for the construction of the pivotal Kharsang-Miao-Vijaynagar – Gandhigram section of NH-913, widely recognized as the Frontier Highway, in Arunachal Pradesh.

Highlighting the project’s transformative potential, Gadkari underscored its role in not just enhancing connectivity to the border areas but also driving socio-economic development. The 61.55 km road project, developed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, is poised to play a crucial role in addressing migration concerns by encouraging reverse migration towards the border regions of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Union Minister emphasized that this road infrastructure project plays a crucial role in connecting major river basins, contributing to the development of numerous hydropower projects. Additionally, it is expected to boost tourism in the pristine and sparsely populated Upper Arunachal region.

The sanctioned funds demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in strategically important areas, providing a stimulus for economic growth and regional development. Shri Gadkari’s announcement reflects the ongoing efforts to strengthen connectivity, promote sustainable development, and create opportunities in the border regions of Arunachal Pradesh.
