Haridwar, Uttarakhand: In a monumental step towards bolstering Uttarakhand’s infrastructure, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 30 National Highway projects worth Rs 4,755 crore in Haridwar. The event witnessed the presence of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, MP Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, former Chief Minister and MP Tirath Singh Rawat, Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Dr. Kalpana Saini, MP Naresh Bansal, Uttarakhand ministers, MP-MLAs, officials, and other dignitaries.
Among the inaugurated projects is the widening of the 2-lane paved shoulder from Lameri to Karnaprayag in Rudraprayag and Chamoli. Additionally, the Dudhdhari elevated flyover in Haridwar has been initiated. These projects not only enhance transportation convenience but also significantly improve connectivity from Rishikesh to the India-China border. The flyover, addressing traffic concerns in the religious city of Haridwar, will simplify access to other spiritual destinations.
The foundation stones laid for the 28 projects promise to accelerate Uttarakhand’s development trajectory. These initiatives are poised to streamline the journey for devotees on Chardham routes and elevate the state’s connectivity with other regions, fostering economic and social development at an unprecedented pace. The strategic implementation of these projects aligns with the government’s commitment to advancing infrastructure and connectivity, ensuring a brighter and more accessible future for Uttarakhand.
