New Delhi: Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Narayan Rane, presided over the 16th Governing Council and 15th Annual General Meeting of the National Institute for MSME (ni-msme) in New Delhi. During the meeting, the Minister granted approval for the establishment of two pivotal centers at UdyamAlok, ni-msme, Hyderabad, aimed at empowering MSMEs and fostering technological advancements.
The first initiative, the Export Acceleration and Experience Centre (EAEC), seeks to enhance MSMEs’ capabilities to boost exports, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat for export promotion. EAEC will offer comprehensive support services, including market research, logistics solutions, digital marketing training, access to funding, and a global marketplace. The center aims to facilitate academia-industry collaboration seamlessly, contributing to the growth of MSMEs in the global market.
The second center, the Centre of Excellence for MSME Enablement of Technology (COMET), is a collaborative effort with IIT-Hyderabad. This center at ni-msme, Hyderabad, intends to provide MSMEs with interdisciplinary, design-focused technologies, enabling them to become global players through indigenous technology development. COMET will serve as a platform for technology development, testing, demonstration, and certification for MSMEs. It will feature digital cataloguing and operate as a B2B marketplace for technologies. The center will focus on developing energy-efficient technologies, solving existing technological problems for MSMEs, and sensitizing them to advanced technologies. Additionally, COMET will provide hands-on training, skill development, and encourage entrepreneurial activities among MSMEs.
