Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Urges Sporting Community to Embrace Anti-Doping App ‘Know Your Medicine’

New Delhi: In a nationwide call to fortify the fight against doping in sports, Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, launched an appeal for athletes, coaches, and the entire sporting community to actively use the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) India’s newly introduced ‘Know Your Medicine (KYM)’ app. This innovative tool aims to provide athletes with critical information, helping them prevent unintentional doping and fostering a fair and clean competitive environment.

Addressing the sporting community, Dr. Mandaviya underscored the value of integrity in athletics. “Our athletes are the pride of the nation, and it is essential for them to have access to tools that support clean and fair competition. I encourage all athletes, coaches, and sports professionals to download and utilize the KYM app to eliminate inadvertent doping and contribute to a fair and transparent sporting culture,” he said.

The KYM app represents a major step in NADA India’s ongoing mission to promote anti-doping awareness and education. The app enables users to verify whether specific medicines or ingredients are on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of prohibited substances. Through a simple, seamless verification process, athletes can quickly check the compliance of medicines, helping them make informed choices to uphold the principles of fair play.

To streamline access to essential information, the KYM app offers unique features such as image and audio search, allowing athletes to obtain information specific to their sport category with ease. These tools enhance the user experience, making it more convenient for athletes and coaches to access guidance on permitted and prohibited substances, ultimately supporting the national drive toward ethical sportsmanship.

With the introduction of the KYM app, NADA India is reinforcing its commitment to creating a culture of transparency, fair play, and integrity in sports. As India’s athletic community rallies behind this initiative, the KYM app stands as a vital resource in the shared goal of maintaining the highest standards of ethics in competitive sports.
