Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurates NDTL Annual Conference 2025 on Anti-Doping Science

New Delhi: Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) Annual Conference 2025 in New Delhi today. Themed “Anti-Doping Science: Innovations and Challenges,” the conference brought together leading experts from the sports and scientific communities to discuss advancements and challenges in anti-doping science.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mandaviya reaffirmed the Government of India’s commitment to clean and fair sports. He emphasized the need for early education on doping, advocating for its inclusion in school curricula and awareness campaigns in rural areas. He also urged sports federations and organizations to take an active role in ensuring that athletes are well-informed about anti-doping regulations. Highlighting the importance of cutting-edge scientific research and technological advancements, he underscored their role in safeguarding athletes’ careers and maintaining the credibility of sporting events at both national and international levels.

The conference provided a platform for scientists, coaches, physical education experts, sports federations, and students to exchange insights on the latest developments in anti-doping measures. Experts deliberated on evolving detection methods, testing technologies, and the growing challenge of undetectable substances. They also discussed strategies for doping prevention and the crucial role of stakeholders, including sports federations, scientists, and educators, in ensuring clean sports.

Throughout the event, interactive sessions, expert panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives explored innovative approaches to doping detection. The active participation of young scholars and students reflected a growing awareness of ethical sporting practices and the importance of scientific advancements in anti-doping efforts.

The NDTL Annual Conference 2025 marked a significant step in India’s ongoing efforts to uphold global anti-doping standards. In his concluding remarks, NDTL Director Prof. (Dr.) P.L. Sahu expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, speakers, and participants for their contributions, emphasizing the importance of continued research, awareness, and collaboration in shaping anti-doping policies and ensuring the integrity of sports in India.
