Ghaziabad: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh today announced the grant of “Mini RATNA” status (Category-1) for Central Electronics Limited (CEL) during its Golden Jubilee celebration held at the Ghaziabad campus. The event marked a significant milestone as CEL completed 50 years of service to the nation.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, who serves as the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and holds responsibilities in the PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space, congratulated CEL on its remarkable journey.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Singh expressed pride in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations being graced by the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar. He emphasized that the Vice President’s presence and encouragement would inspire further contributions towards national progress. Dr. Singh said, “50 years of dedication, perseverance, and success is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and vision which propelled this journey of excellence.”

Highlighting CEL’s impressive performance, Dr. Singh noted that in recent years, particularly the last five, CEL’s financial stability, profitability, and operational excellence have reached unprecedented heights. He mentioned significant achievements in turnover, net worth, reserves, and net profit.

Celebrating 50 years with a net profit of approximately Rs 58 crore is a commendable achievement, he added.

Reflecting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Amrit Kaal, Dr. Singh emphasized the aim to increase indigenization of technology and boost manufacturing through capacity building and skill development. He affirmed that CEL has met the performance criteria required for the higher status of Mini RATNA (Category-1).
