Union Minister Chouhan Reviews 100-Day Agricultural Action Plan

New Delhi: Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, convened a detailed discussion today with senior officials of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department regarding the 100-day agricultural action plan, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

During the meeting, Chouhan underscored the importance of focusing on farmer-oriented initiatives to ensure swift implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives. He urged officials to prioritize efforts aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity.

Reviewing the departmental action plan for the first 100 days of the Modi government’s third term, the Union Minister directed officials to take robust measures to strengthen the country’s agriculture sector. Ensuring the timely availability of quality fertilizers, seeds, and other inputs to farmers was highlighted as a key priority.

Chouhan emphasized the need to boost agricultural production and productivity to meet both domestic demand and international requirements. He called for the implementation of a concrete action plan to facilitate the export of high-quality agricultural products to meet global demand.

During the meeting, senior officials presented department-wise schemes aimed at achieving the objectives outlined in the action plan.

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Ram Nath Thakur, and Bhagirath Chaudhary, along with Agriculture Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Director-General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Dr. Himanshu Pathak, were among those present at the meeting.

The discussions underscored the government’s commitment to revitalizing the agricultural sector and ensuring the welfare of farmers across the country.
