Union Minister Arjun Munda Inaugurates Farmers’ Conference at PUSA, New Delhi

New Delhi: Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda, inaugurated a Farmers’ Conference organized by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare at PUSA, New Delhi. The conference witnessed the active participation of hundreds of farmers and members of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) who were specially invited by the Central Government for Republic Day from various parts of the country. During the conference, scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) shared insights into modern farming methods and innovations, while officials from the Union Agriculture Ministry provided information about various schemes.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Shri Munda highlighted the significance of farmers coming to the capital on Republic Day, emphasizing the strength it adds to the country’s democracy. He expressed the idea that when citizens celebrate the 100th Republic Day, they will remember how people commemorated the 75th Republic Day. Shri Munda underscored that this Republic Day marks the transition from Amrit Mahotsav to Amrit Kaal, representing a resolution to build a new India guided by spiritual thinking and the country’s spiritual power.

Shri Munda acknowledged the importance of the Republic Day Parade being organized on Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath. He stated that the invitation of farmers by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reflects the desire to celebrate the occasion with those who contribute significantly to the country’s growth through their hard work in villages and fields. The Minister emphasized the crucial role of farmers and their families as providers of food, stating that the progress of the country is intricately linked to the progress of farmers. In the face of changing times, learning new farming methods becomes essential, aiming to empower farmers, villages, and the nation with new experiences.

Union Minister of State Ms. Shobha Karandlaje highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Modi’s invitation to people from various sections of society for Republic Day reflects the spirit of public participation. Union Agriculture Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja, Additional Secretary Ms. Maninder Kaur, Joint Secretary Ms. Shubha Thakur, and other officers were present at the conference. The invited farmers were not only part of the conference but also engaged in a field visit, providing them with practical insights and training.
