Union Minister Anurag Thakur Highlights Government Achievements and Future Vision at FICCI’s National Conclave

New Delhi:  Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting,  Anurag Thakur, delivered a compelling address at FICCI’s National Conclave today, focusing on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat@ 2047: Viksit Bharat & Industry’. Expressing gratitude to taxpayers, Minister Thakur emphasized the pivotal role played by honest taxpayers in enabling the government to direct funds towards the social sector, ensuring that every penny reaches the intended beneficiaries.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to efficient financial delivery, Thakur underscored the transformative impact of initiatives like UPI (Unified Payments Interface). He remarked on the global recognition of India’s technological prowess, with 46 percent of all digital payments worldwide being made in the country.

Enumerating key achievements, Minister Thakur noted the delivery of 40 million houses, 100 million toilets, and over 100 million LPG cylinders to uplift the lives of the poor. Over 130 million tap water connections have been installed, benefiting millions. The Ayushman Bharat scheme has reached over 600 million beneficiaries, and more than 800 million people are receiving free food, showcasing the government’s commitment to social welfare.

Thakur also highlighted the significant progress in infrastructure development over the past decade. National highway construction has increased from 90 thousand kilometers to 150 thousand kilometers, airports have doubled from 74 to 150, and the number of AIIMS and IITs has seen substantial growth. The Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing strong and capable leadership, leading India to intervene in global conflicts for the protection of its citizens.

Turning his attention to the agricultural sector, Minister Thakur reiterated the government’s commitment to farmers, delivering on the promise of Cost plus 50%. He emphasized the rapid growth of domestic industries with government support, laying the foundation for India’s journey to becoming a developed nation by 2047.

In a call to action, Anurag Thakur urged industry leaders to forge partnerships with investors interested in India, leveraging the nation’s talents and capabilities. He emphasized that such collaborations would play a pivotal role in India’s transformation into a developed and self-reliant nation. The Minister’s address at FICCI’s National Conclave showcased the government’s achievements and outlined a visionary roadmap for the country’s future growth.
