Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham
Ayodhyadham: The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has granted approval to declare Ayodhya Airport as an International Airport and designate it as “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham.”
This elevation of Ayodhya Airport to international status holds great significance in unlocking Ayodhya’s economic potential and recognizing its global importance as a pilgrimage site. The move is expected to welcome foreign pilgrims and tourists, fostering cultural exchanges.
The airport’s chosen name, “Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham,” pays tribute to Maharishi Valmiki, the sage credited with composing the epic Ramayana, thereby imparting a cultural identity to the airport.
Strategically positioned, Ayodhya, with its rich cultural heritage, is poised to emerge as a vital economic hub and pilgrimage destination. The airport’s capacity to attract international pilgrims and businesses aligns seamlessly with the historical eminence of the city.
