
UGC Introduces Stricter Guidelines for Fitness Grant Eligibility to Colleges
New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has unveiled a robust framework known as the UGC (Fitness of Colleges for Receiving Grants) Rules, 2024, signaling a stringent approach to grant eligibility for colleges encompassed by Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. These rules, slated to be effective upon their official publication in the gazette, outline specific conditions that colleges must meet to qualify for grants from the Central Government, the University Grants Commission (UGC), or any other organization receiving funds from the central government.
