Three Odisha Cadre IPS Officers to Join Central Deputation

Bhubaneswar: Following the recent appointment of IPS officer D.S. Kutey as Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), three more senior IPS officers from the Odisha cadre have been deputed to central roles.

The officers—1997-batch IPS officer Asheet Kumar Panigrahi, 1998-batch IPS officer Amitav Thakur, and 1998-batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar—will take up the position of Inspector General at the Centre-Vigilance Status.

Official reports confirm that no criminal, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC)-related, or Vigilance cases are pending against these officers, ensuring their suitability for these high-profile roles.

This development comes shortly after 2004-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh was appointed as IG in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for a five-year tenure.
