Sundargarh: In a concerning incident, approximately 40 tribal students from a sevashram school in Babunuagaon village, Bonai block, Sundargarh district, Odisha, fell ill on Saturday, with suspected food poisoning being the primary cause. The affected students, who attended Baidpalli Sevashram, complained of symptoms such as headaches, stomachaches, and vomiting.
As the condition of 30 students worsened, they were promptly shifted to Bonai hospital for immediate medical attention. The reported symptoms raised suspicions of food poisoning, with the possibility of stale food being served at the sevashram.
Upon receiving the information, local authorities, including the police and Sevashram staff, reached the hospital to initiate an investigation into the incident. At the latest update, the condition of the students is reported to be stable. Further inquiries and examinations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the suspected food poisoning.
