State of the Art AI-supported “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels” Telemedicine Mobile Clinic Launched for Remote Areas in J&K
Udhampur: Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, and MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy, and Space, inaugurated the cutting-edge “Aarogya-Doctors on Wheels” Telemedicine Mobile Clinic in the remote hilly areas of the Ramnagar region, Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir.
This state-of-the-art Tele Clinic, powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI), aims to deliver healthcare services to the far-flung corners of the region where such facilities are scarce. Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the significance of “Aarogya,” emphasizing that it operates on an advanced methodology. Patients can articulate their health concerns in their native language, and the AI doctor comprehends the language, responding in the same linguistic context.
Explaining the process further, Dr Jitendra Singh mentioned that after the initial interaction, the patient is linked to leading super specialists across the country through the telemedicine hospital’s partnerships with renowned medical institutions. The patient undergoes a comprehensive health profile and investigations, and within 40 to 50 minutes, a free-of-cost prescription is provided.
The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s commitment to extending healthcare services to the remotest areas by leveraging the latest technological advancements. Dr Jitendra Singh disclosed that the initial phases of this initiative were successfully executed in the Gandoh area of district Doda, Zero Line villages along the International Border, and the upper reaches of Bilawar. The upcoming fourth phase will unfold in Dudu Basantgarh in the upper reaches of Ramnagar block in Udhampur.
Dr Jitendra Singh urged local residents to make the most of this facility, emphasizing that this state-of-the-art hospital brings specialized medical care to their doorstep.
