State-Level Children’s Fest ‘Suravi’ 2024 Inaugurated in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The highly anticipated ‘Sishu Mahotsav 2024 – Suravi’ was inaugurated today at the Capital High School in Bhubaneswar, celebrating young talent across Odisha. The three-day state-level children’s festival, organized by the Department of School and Mass Education, kicked off with a vibrant ceremony attended by students, educators, and government officials.

Nityananda Gond, Minister of School and Mass Education, served as the chief guest and encouraged students to recognize and develop their unique talents. In his address, he inspired students to “learn new things, ask questions, and embrace innovation,” urging them to work diligently to achieve their dreams. He emphasized that “a developed Odisha and a developed India begins at the grassroots level.” He further highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting Odisha’s folk art, noting that initiatives like Suravi play a vital role in sustaining the cultural heritage of the state.

Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das joined as the guest of honor, emphasizing that “Suravi provides a valuable platform for students to nurture and showcase their skills.” Shalini Pandit, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of School and Mass Education, spoke on the government’s commitment to empowering the next generation. She said, “Today’s child is the best guide to the future, and Suravi is a meaningful attempt to bring out their potential.”

The event began with a welcome address by Ananya Das, SPD, OSEPA, followed by a vote of thanks from Sangram Keshari Mohapatra, Director of TE&SCERT. Throughout the festival, students will participate in a variety of activities, providing them with a platform to explore their creative abilities and contribute to the state’s vision of progress.
