SRH Crush DC in High-Scoring Encounter, 2nd in point table

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) put on a masterclass with the bat, cruising to a commanding 67-run victory over the Delhi Capitals (DC) in a thrilling encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

From the onset, SRH exhibited an unparalleled batting display, setting a monumental target of 267 runs for the hosts, DC. Travis Head spearheaded SRH’s onslaught, amassing a blistering 89 runs off just 32 deliveries, featuring an astonishing 11 sixes and six fours. His explosive innings propelled SRH to a staggering total of 266 runs, marking the fourth-highest score in IPL history.

Despite a valiant effort by DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk, who notched the fastest fifty of the day off just 15 balls, DC fell short in their pursuit of the mammoth target. Fraser-McGurk’s sensational knock, supported by Abhishek Porel’s attacking innings, kept DC in contention momentarily. However, SRH’s bowling unit, led by T Natarajan’s exceptional four-wicket haul, tightened their grip on the game, ultimately restricting DC to 199 runs.

SRH’s victory was a testament to their dominance with both bat and ball, reaffirming their prowess in the TATA IPL. With this commanding win, SRH continues to assert their presence in the league, aiming for further success as the tournament progresses.
