Snehasis Das’s new movie ‘Suka Bhai ra Sholay’ to release soon

Bhubaneswar: The trailer of the upcoming Odia movie ‘Suka Bhai ra Sholay’ was recently released and it has garnered curiosity among Odia cine lovers.

Written and directed by Snehasis Das, the movie is produced by Ram Patnaik and Kaushik Das.

The first look of the trailer gives the impression that it could be a remake of the popular movie Sholay, however, it is not.

Story of a common man, the film is about body shaming. The protagonist of the movie is highly influenced by the character Jay portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in Sholay. He tries to imitate Jay in daily life and even plans to make Sholay with his friends.

Sharing about the movie, Snehasis said, “The film has substantial humour with dialogue in Ganjam style, which would make the audience laugh. The film projects the issue of body shaming and widow remarriage.”

Snehasis planned the movie during the Covid-19 lockdown and wanted to release it immediately after the covid.

The star cast of the movie includes Satya Ranjan who had acted in some Bollywood movies, Anubha Sourya, Sukanta Rath, Choudhary Joyprakash Das, and Dharitri among others. A few theatre artists from Ganjam are also part of the movie.

Expecting a good response from the audience, he said, “I have tried to make an entertaining film at the same time to inject certain ideas. I hope that audience would like the movie. It’s a situational film that projects certain events that happens with the main protagonist on certain days.”

The makers of the movie are planning to release the movie in theatres soon.
