Bhubaneswar: In response to the prevailing intense heatwave conditions gripping Odisha, the timing of classes at schools in Khurda district has been rescheduled to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
Khurda district Collector, Chanchal Rana, took cognizance of the latest report from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) highlighting the prolonged heatwave situation in the state. In light of this, a decision was made to adjust the school timings until further notice.
According to the revised schedule, classes for students from Class I to Class XII in all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools across Khurda district will now be conducted from 6:30 am to 10:30 am. This adjustment aims to mitigate the impact of scorching temperatures during the peak hours of the day and ensure the safety and comfort of students and faculty.
Additionally, the order issued by the Khurda district Collector stated that all Anganwadi centres in the district will also adhere to the revised timings, remaining open from 6:30 am to 10:30 am until further orders.
