Saudi Arabia Debuts in Miss Universe Pageant with Rumy Alqahtani

Dubai: Saudi Arabia has made history by officially joining the prestigious Miss Universe pageant, marking a significant milestone for the Islamic nation. Rumy Alqahtani, a 27-year-old model, has been selected as the kingdom’s inaugural representative in the renowned international beauty competition.

The announcement was made by Alqahtani herself via Instagram on Monday, where she expressed her excitement and pride in being chosen as Saudi Arabia’s first-ever participant in the Miss Universe pageant. “This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition,” she shared on her social media platform.

Alqahtani’s selection as Saudi Arabia’s delegate to the Miss Universe pageant underscores the kingdom’s progressive steps towards embracing cultural diversity and women’s empowerment. Her participation represents a significant shift for Saudi Arabia, which has been undergoing social and cultural reforms under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
