Sarbananda Sonowal Takes Charge of Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways

New Delhi: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal assumed charge of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways on June 10th, 2024. In his address to the office bearers and staff, Minister Sonowal expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to achieve the ministry’s goals and objectives, emphasizing the vision to serve the people of India.

Sonowal reaffirmed the commitment to the nation’s progress, urging his team to sustain their efforts in contributing to the goal of “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India). He highlighted the importance of absolute dedication to serving the country and called upon his team to continue their exemplary work towards this end.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal stated, “Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has been doing some stupendous work towards empowering the maritime sector and its holistic development in our endeavor to become an economic powerhouse. We will continue to commit ourselves to the cause of nation-building with the intent of Nation First as we move ahead towards achieving the ultimate goal of Viksit Bharat. Our ministry will continue to work towards empowering the maritime sector towards holistic development as envisioned in the Amrit Kaal Vision, 2047.”
