Sarang Helicopter Display Team Takes Flight at Singapore Airshow 2024

Changi, Singapore:  The skies above Singapore came alive as the Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) soared into action with their first practice display on February 18, 2024. Operating from the Changi airbase of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), the Sarang team arrived in Singapore on February 12 and is gearing up for the much-anticipated Singapore Airshow, scheduled to commence on February 20, 2024.

This marks a significant moment as the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)-manufactured Advanced Light Helicopter (Dhruv) operated by the Sarang team debuts at the Singapore Airshow. The ALH Dhruv, a testament to India’s indigenous aerospace capabilities, is set to captivate audiences with its agility, manoeuvrability, and the precision skills of the IAF pilots.

Notably, the first international display for the Sarang team also took place in Singapore at the Asian Aerospace Airshow at Changi Exhibition Center in 2004. Returning after nearly two decades, the Sarang team is set to make a lasting impression on the global stage.

The Sarang team, renowned for its synchronized and dynamic displays, will perform a breathtaking four-helicopter routine, showcasing the capabilities of the ALH Dhruv. The display aims to underscore the high level of skill possessed by IAF pilots, as well as the advanced features of the indigenously manufactured ALH and its variants, which are currently in operational use across all branches of the Indian military.

The successful induction and operational utilization of the ALH Dhruv stand as a shining example of self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta) in the defense sector. The participation of the Sarang team at the Singapore Airshow further enhances the global visibility of India’s aerospace prowess and its commitment to technological innovation.

The Singapore Airshow, a premier event in the international aerospace calendar, will feature display teams from around the world, along with leading aircraft and system manufacturers and operators showcasing their latest products and technologies. The Sarang team’s performance is expected to be a highlight, drawing attention to the advanced capabilities and achievements of India’s aerospace industry.

As the Sarang Helicopter Display Team takes center stage, the skies of Singapore will bear witness to a mesmerizing display of precision, skill, and technological excellence, reinforcing India’s standing in the global aviation arena.
