The 25-year-old from Balasore, who has long pursued excellence in the shadow of star hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, displayed flawless technique to clear each barrier and stop the clock at 13.74 seconds. Tamil Nadu’s Nandini Konghan finished a fraction behind in 13.80 seconds, while Kerala’s Anjali C took bronze with 14.00 seconds.
In the Men’s 100m final, Odisha’s Lalu Prasad Bhoi fell agonisingly short of a medal, finishing fourth in 10.54 seconds. Malaysia’s Muhammad Azeem dominated with gold in 10.35 seconds, Sri Lanka’s Chamod secured silver in 10.43, and Danish Iftikhar claimed bronze in 10.50.
The Women’s 100m sprint saw veteran Srabani Nanda of Odisha place fifth, clocking 11.86 seconds in a tightly contested race.
The meet once again reinforced Bhubaneswar’s standing as a key athletics hub, showcasing both international competition and local talent.
