Sacred Relics of Lord Buddha and His Disciples Enshrined in Grand Ceremony in Bangkok
Bangkok: In a deeply reverential ceremony at the Sanam Luang Pavilion, the Holy Relics of Lord Buddha and His Two Disciples were enshrined for public veneration. The auspicious event unfolded with great devotion and holy chanting, marking a significant moment of spiritual significance.
The Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, presented the Holy Relics of Buddha to the Thai Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, symbolizing a sacred connection between India and Thailand. Simultaneously, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar, bestowed the Holy Relics of Arahants Sariputra & Maha Maudgalayana upon Thai Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Somsak Thepsutin and Thai Culture Minister in a gesture of spiritual diplomacy.
A majestic parade accompanied the Relics from the national museum, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. The procession, a splendid display of unity and friendship, featured the National Flags of Thailand and India, further symbolizing the enduring bond between the two nations. The grand exposition of the Relics, spanning 26 days, stands as a testament to the cultural exchange and mutual respect shared by India and Thailand.
