Rise in Day and Night Temperature Expected Across Odisha From April 2: IMD Forecast

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar has forecasted a surge in maximum (day) and minimum (night) temperatures across several districts of Odisha from April 2 onwards, as the cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood weakens.

According to the IMD bulletin released today, the anticipated rise in maximum temperature, coupled with high humidity levels, is expected to result in hot and humid weather conditions prevailing across the state from April 2 to April 6, 2024. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions when venturing outside during peak hours of the day, typically from around 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM IST, during this period.

The IMD bulletin further stated, “Maximum temperatures have observed an appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, with no significant change elsewhere. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures have seen an appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha and North Interior Odisha, with no significant change elsewhere.”

In terms of temperature forecast, the IMD predicts a decrease in maximum temperature by 3°C to 4°C over the next 24 hours, followed by a subsequent rise of 4°C to 5°C at many places over the subsequent two days.
