Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme Launched to Strengthen Public Service Commitment
New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush marked a significant step in transforming the public service mindset with the inauguration of the first batch of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme on March 18, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the Capacity Building Commission, was inaugurated by Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha.
The programme aims to instill a strong spirit of service, or ‘Seva Bhav,’ among Central Government employees, reinforcing their role in delivering efficient and meaningful governance. Speaking at the launch, Kotecha emphasized that the programme extends beyond the promotion of public service ideals. It also serves as a platform to upskill employees, broaden their perspectives, and encourage them to acknowledge their privileges while understanding their potential to impact society positively.
Satyajit Paul, Deputy Director General and Head of the Capacity Building Unit, highlighted the importance of the right approach to public service. He noted that fostering a service-oriented mindset can enhance efficiency, reduce workplace stress, and improve service delivery. He encouraged participants to actively engage with the training and apply its lessons in their daily responsibilities to ensure citizens receive timely and effective services.
The training sessions, led by Dr. Subodh Kumar (Director) and facilitated by Shipra Singh (Program Coordinator), engaged employees in discussions on their roles within the Ministry and their contributions to national development goals. Participants explored the impact of the Ministry of Ayush in promoting traditional medicine and advancing public health initiatives.
Unlike conventional lecture-based training, the programme follows an interactive methodology that includes structured discussions, teamwork, and problem-solving exercises. Through four short sessions, participants will reflect on their responsibilities, engage in dialogues on improving citizen services, and draw inspiration from leadership stories. A key focus is self-discovery and motivation, equipping employees with the necessary insights to enhance their professional and personal growth.
The programme also integrates real-world insights from successful national initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Ayush, offering practical learning experiences. As the first batch undergoes training, the initiative is expected to lay a strong foundation for a more accountable and service-driven government workforce.
