Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt Commends Western Command’s Operational Preparedness and Service to Veterans

Chandimandir:  Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt paid a significant visit to the Headquarters Western Command in Chandimandir on February 12, 2024. During his visit, he received comprehensive briefings on the operational and security situation, as well as administrative aspects, from Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of Western Command.

As part of his visit, Shri Ajay Bhatt also toured the 474 Engineer Brigade, where he gained insights into the operational capabilities and readiness of the Kharga Sappers. Witnessing training activities firsthand, he later engaged with troops stationed at both Zirakpur and Chandimandir military stations.

Commending the Western Command for its commendable service, Shri Ajay Bhatt acknowledged the vital role played by the command in running a Rehabilitation Centre at Mohali and a Senior Veterans’ Home at Panchkula. He lauded the troops for their operational preparedness and high morale, urging them to maintain the same zeal and enthusiasm in serving and defending the nation.

In a separate engagement, Raksha Rajya Mantri visited the NCC Group Headquarters in Chandigarh. Here, he inspected a ceremonial guard and enjoyed a cultural program presented by NCC cadets. Addressing the cadets, he encouraged them to excel in all facets of life and become exemplary citizens. Drawing from his own experiences as an NCC cadet, Shri Ajay Bhatt shared insights and inspiration with the 250 cadets present.

Continuing his tour, the Raksha Rajya Mantri visited the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Chandigarh. During the visit, he took stock of the ongoing research and projects at TBRL, a prominent DRDO lab specializing in armament studies. The laboratory conducts both basic and applied research in the fields of high explosives, detonics, and shock waves. Additionally, TBRL plays a crucial role in evolving data and design parameters for new armaments and assessing the terminal effects of ammunition.

Shri Ajay Bhatt’s comprehensive visit underscored the government’s commitment to staying abreast of defense preparedness, research, and welfare initiatives within the armed forces. His words of appreciation and encouragement resonated with the troops and cadets, emphasizing the nation’s collective gratitude for their dedicated service.
