Bhubaneswar: The Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing projects and traffic facility works during his two-day visit to Bhubaneswar. The extensive review covered critical and public-centric railway projects, highlighting the progress of rail line connectivity to mineral belts, ports, industries, and the redevelopment status of railway stations in the state.
In a high-level review meeting, Minister Vaishnaw emphasized the importance of expediting coal transportation to various ports, industries, and power plants. He underscored the need for rail line connections to mineral-rich regions, ensuring seamless connectivity with ports and industries. Furthermore, the Minister prioritized the expansion of the proposed three freight corridors, aiming to accelerate freight transportation without causing disruptions to passenger trains.
The ongoing construction projects for the redevelopment of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri Railway Stations were also a focal point of the review. The progress of these projects surpassed expectations, reflecting the commitment to modernizing and enhancing railway infrastructure.
In the evening, Minister Vaishnaw visited Puri Railway Station, where he personally inspected the progress of the station’s redevelopment. He urged officials to expedite construction work, ensuring the timely completion of the project.
